Time to go...

Lately I've been thinking... that it's time to move on and I've decided to start a blog elsewhere (Most likely Blogger with Google)  that I'm going to keep up throughout college. I'm going to keep it anonymous, at least for a while. Or maybe not. Who knows?

I've been blessed tremendously through xanga, and I'm still going to post here occasionally and read everyone else's (because I love reading your updates. You know it. Update frequently)  And I'm  going to start  trying to work more on notjustanothermarter (password = jesus, feel free to post!!)

Last night, I felt more alive, closer to God than I ever have been, after having my Bible readings. (I read Psalm 32 (for the 3rd time in the last couple of days; I love it.) and Isaiah 50. Check them out.) I realized the magnitude of the hope and security I have in the future, of what an adventure my life will be through my relationship with God, and what a huge responsibility Christians have to reach those who aren't saved. (Read Dante's Inferno and you'll know what I mean.) I also realized how immensely blessed I am through the people who love and care for me and how often I take them for granted.

So, take courage in Christ; we have so much to live for, more than we know.

Snowed In

My dogs love the snow. They literally bounce along as they run through it, their faces split in doggie grins, their saber tails waving wildly behind them. This is Max, standing guard.

He's the tough guy of my dogs.

All-State was canceled, or rather, finished early, because of the weather. While I'm disappointed, I have to say, I'm glad it was. Our driveway has disappeared.

I still had a good time. I roomed with Tyler, Roger, and David; Roger would play his guitar for us before we went to sleep. The bus ride was long, but we managed to occupy our time...

Meet Bamboo. I managed to steal him a couple of times and incur his owner's wrath.

I need to get an MP3 player...that's what I'm listening to here.

Thank goodness that Monday = NO SCHOOL! I think I'm going to take advantage of the snow and brush up on my writing skills. I haven't written seriously in a while. I've got this great idea too...

Oh, and I've discovered the belief that "if you die in your dreams you actually die in real life" is one big hoax. Last night I dreamed that I took a short cut through a cow pasture and was killed by a demented bull. (Where this came from, I have no idea.)  I remember thinking, "How dumb is this!" It was really humorous, which is odd, because you wouldn't think dying dreams would be.

So the moral is...don't be worried about being killed in your dreams anymore and watch out for bulls. Hope everyone is enjoying the snow!

Happy V. Day

Happy V Day everyone....I've eaten too much candy. Also, if Valentine's Day is, for you, Single Awareness Day, (abbreviated S.A.D.) and you feel down about it, you can have some of my candy.

Swimming tomorrow morning!! I've gotta get up at five. (And it will work this time. Promise.) Hoo boy. I haven't swum in a long time, yet I'll have to keep up with Courtney.

We were watching "Where the Red Fern Grows" in Chem. Sad, sad, sad movie. It will make you cry. I didn't, but I wanted to. (We didn't get to finish it, but I've read the book.)

And...Da Dum Dah Dah...I got a messenger bag. My dad got it at his "American Institute of Steel Construction" conference thingie and he gave it to me. He and mom still call it a "man purse" (they crack up every time they say it, like they're the funniest people in the world. My dad made this joke, "If you want to purse-sue it" and just laughed and laughed.), but I digress. It's gender neutral. And a whole lot easier to transport than a back-pack, man purse or not.

Tonight I have to pack for All-State Clinic. We're leaving after school tomorrow for Hot Springs and we'll get back Saturday evening. I  have to admitt, I'm pretty pysched.

"I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me" -Phillipians 4: 13. I learned this from my Teen Missions Trip four years ago, and it's still an amazing encouragement. It's really helping me at this time of my life right now, in every aspect of it, and is great for fighting temptation.

Hope everyone is doing fantastic. And I'm dead serious about sharing my candy.

Swimming...sort of.

So...never close your eyes "for just a moment" after you've turned off your alarm. I did that today, (I had to meet Courtney for swimming) and my dad poked his head in my door half an hour later and said, "Weren't you supposed to get up early?"

I was amazed at how fast I was out the door. JUMP ZOOP BANG I was gone. And it would have been okay had it not been 12 degrees outside = my car had ice all over its windows. I lost my ice scraper a couple months ago so I had to use my school ID card to carve a couple seeing spots.

I was half an hour late: I felt awful, but Courtney was awesome and just like "It's cool." And everything was fine...

Until we got to the pool. It was closed. A while back I'd called the Jones Center and asked them if I could swim early in the mornings. They said that it was open from 6:00 - 7:00 to the general public. (We got there at 6:30)

So we go ask security and the guy tells us its TUESDAY to Friday.

I felt so bad. I took Courtney to McDonald's and got breakfast for both of us. (Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Bagel, baby. Oh yeah.) I ended up wearing my swim trunks (with my karate pants over them) all day at school.

But we're trying again Wednesday. Here's hoping we get to it next time. Hope everyone is fantastic.

P.S. Mi madre y padre got back last night from San Antonio.
And I know that Zessna and Jennifer both posted this pic, but I'm going to do it again. This is after we went to see Footloose...Zessna was "Irene", a country singer.
